Thanks to all those who were able to attend the Parent Meeting! It looks like it is shaping up to be a fantastic season of swimming with a GREAT group of athletes! Here are just a few quick reminders as the season gets started.

1. Kristi and I will be in the hospitality room on October 30 starting at 5:00 if you need to return forms, purchase pizza cards, or get help filling any paperwork out.

2. Please remember that when you are turning in forms/money- they should go in the lock box next to the fridge in the hospitality room. This is just for HIGH SCHOOL materials. Please do not place FRST Club checks or forms in this box. The box is opened and checked regularly!

3. Thanks to all families who have already signed up to serve breakfast in October/November. Please remember to leave your plans for food and your phone numbers in the comments section. That way the volunteers for breakfast that day can contact each other.

4. Thanks to all who have already signed up for Thanksgiving breakfast and set-up. This is a special event for our swimmers and coaches. You will want to be a part of this!

FCHSSnD 2019-2020 Campaign right around the corner!

Important dates to mark the calendar:

• Parent Meeting: Tuesday, October 22 at 6pm in the high school cafe.
• Athlete Call-Out: Wednesday, October 23 during COACH Class in Pool Area.
• Girls 1st Practice: October, 28th – After School 3:15-5:30pm
• Boys 1st Practice: November, 11th – After School 3:15-5:30pm

FCHSSnD & Senior FRST Families,

First of all, congratulations to the Men’s Franklin Community HS Swimming & Diving team on their recent success at the 2019 IHSAA State Championships this weekend at the IUPUI Natatorium! The gentlemen brought home a rather large chunk of wood, symbolic of the 2nd place finish after a wonderful pair of days.

Tonight, there will be an event of celebration for FCHSSnD’s recent accomplishments for both the boys and girls teams (2nd at 2019 IHSAA State Championship – Boys & Girls). This celebration will honor ALL of our athletes (& Managers) as each member played an integral role within our team. Parents, members of the community, as well as teachers and student-athletes from other sports are even invited to the event.

The celebration will be held in the Performance Art Center on the opposite side of the building from the pool. While I don’t have a “ton” of information regarding the details of the event, I do have a rough timeline of the event. The event is projected to last roughly 35-45 minutes.

5:30 – PAC Doors Open (Reception in lobby)
5:50 – Enter auditorium (Music and photos from season on side screens)
6:00 – Welcome and Team Introductions (Doty)
6:10 – State Highlights (Side Screens)
6:15 – City Proclamation (Mayor Barnett presentation to team captains/seniors)
– Allow seniors a opportunity to speak
6:25 – FCHS Recognition of Coach DeWitt (Ahaus)
– Season and State Recap, etc. (DeWitt)
6:35 – Closing (Doty)

To accommodate for the swim athletes / coaches that will be attending, we plan on ending Senior FRST practice tonight at 5:00pm, which is a half hour earlier than normal that what is scheduled. Hopefully this will give our athletes a chance to dress up a bit for the event, which I believe is “business casual?”

Age Group practices will go on as normal in preparation for this weekend’s exciting Divisional Championships meet.
I apologize for the late notice and lack of details! This event has been in the works for less than 24 hours, but the administration wanted the opportunity to honor our athletes.

Great news! Our FCHS administration would like to recognize all the athletes from FCHSSnD on their outstanding 2nd place performance at State. This recognition will take place in the high school auditorium @6:00pm! ALL student athletes, coaches, and families are encouraged to come. See you there!

We would like to remind you of the season end banquet on Wednesday, February 27 @6:00pm in the high school cafe. We will be serving cake and punch.
