News and Announcements

1. Tomorrow (Tuesday, Nov. 23) is an away meet at Columbus North. The meet should start at 5:30. If you are planning on taking your athlete home from Columbus North, a travel release form MUST be signed before the END of the meet. Those forms should be given to a parent rep or a team manager. I will have these forms at the meet if you need one. Please note that your athlete can always ride the bus back to FCHS and be picked up there.

2. Thanksgiving breakfast is WEDNESDAY, Nov. 24!!! Please excuse the mix-up in dates from the parent packet. If you are helping set up/decorate, please arrive at the athletic entrance of the high school around 8:15 am. If you are bringing food for the breakfast, please have that dropped off at the main athletic entrance anytime between 9-9:30 am. The athletes are scheduled to be let out of practice at 9:30 am. We want to be ready for them. If you need to keep your food hot, please remember to bring it in something that can be plugged in. We will have a few surge protectors where items can be plugged. PLEASE BRING SERVING UTENSILS IF NEEDED FOR YOUR DISH!! You are welcome to stay and join in the fun. It is a special time!

3. I will take the blame and admit that I dropped the ball on scheduling for the Alumni Meet. I sent out a sign-up for 8 timers for Saturday, Nov. 27 at 10:00 am. Please help if you can.

4. Due to the holiday break, practice times might be different. If your athlete is a member of the Google Classroom for swim/dive, the entire week’s schedule it planned out there.

Get Ready!!! The girls take to the pool on Saturday against Center Grove. The meet is at Franklin Community High School and is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.

Here are a few things to know:
1. Ticket sales are back to normal. Buy your ticket at the athletic entrance box office.
2. This meet will only include racing from our female athletes, but our boys will be timing and cheering.
3. The concession stand will be open if the Youth Basketball League games have already started. You can visit their side of the concession stand if needed.
4. I will have silicone caps for sale at the meet for $15 or latex caps for $4.
5. We will also have order forms for the fundraising yard signs if you are interested in purchasing one. They really are well done and a great “extra” to have around each season.
6. Subway will not be served since this is not a weekday meet.

As always, reach out with questions.
SEE YOU AT THE POOL!!!

This is just a reminder that picture day for the Swim and Dive team is Thursday, Nov. 18 at 3:45. Here is some info that Zach posted on Team Pages earlier this week….with a few added notes from me.

This season Lifetouch will be taking traditional team pictures in the gym. Individual pictures will be in the athletic commons.
Athletes will wear matching uniforms. Warm-ups will be passed out to the athletes tomorrow for their pictures.

1. Everyone gets a picture taken from Lifetouch, even if they are not purchasing pictures from Lifetouch.
2. Seniors will get two headshots from the Daily Journal and Lifetouch.

Athletes and parents have a couple ways to order portraits!

1. Pre-ordering online at www.mylifetouch.com
Picture Day ID: EVTDZX8HG
***If I remember correctly from last year, you are preordering a photo that you may not be able to see at that time. That is fine with some people, but others prefer to wait until the proof sheet is sent.

2. After portrait day – Proof sheet online instructions
Every athlete will receive a picture package after portrait day. If an athlete did NOT order anything, they will get a proof sheet that shows the portrait we captured of them and the ordering instructions in case they did want to purchase it after portrait day.
***After the struggles with this in the past, I will keep my eyes open for these proof sheets and ordered photo packages and get them passed out ASAP.

As always- reach out with questions!

The coordinator of the Hall of Fame Meet, Kurt Hass, wanted to send out information about ordering the HOF shirt. If you scroll to the bottom of our Team Pages website, you will see a list of documents, calendar, etc.. In that list there is a topic called HOF Shirt Flyer. You can click on the icon to view the flyer for this year’s shirt. It includes a picture of what the shirt looks like as well as some other info. If you are interested in purchasing, please see the directions on how to do so from Kurt Hass below.

To order this year’s shirt:
Send an email to Kurt Hass at hasskurt@gmail.com
Put you name, your school name and shirt size in the email. Send before the November 21st deadline.
During the meet, a Hall of Fame Board member will be at a check-in table. Give the person your money and they will give you the t-shirt you ordered.

Also, we are opening the store back up to purchase personalized yard signs and window clings. Our first shipment arrived and they look fantastic. Think about it… you order the yard sign once and can use it for multiple seasons of swim or dive. Seniors can also order a sign to put out at graduation open houses! The signs are only $20 and the window clings are $10. If you scroll to the bottom of our Team Pages website, you will see a list of documents, calendar, etc.. In that list there is a topic called Sign/Window Cling . You can click on the icon to view the order form. Just print it out and have your athlete drop it and the money in the lock box ASAP. Turn around is super quick! I will be checking the lock box periodically this week for any orders.

As always reach out with questions.
