News and Announcements

Saturday, January 22 is the JV Invite at Avon. The meet is set to start at 10:00! Come support our athletes! Travel release forms will be available at the meet and should be filled out and turned into a parent rep before the end of the meet, please!

While we will have Chick Fil A minis for breakfast and a selection of snacks for the kids on deck and in the stands, tomorrow’s meet can be a long one. It would be a good idea if your athlete was prepared with water and any additional food items that might be needed….this is for both participating and non-participating athletes.

Looking forward to a fun meet in the stands and some FAST swimming in the pool!
See you there!

Home Meet on Jan. 20 at 5:30 against Whiteland:
Come pack the stands and cheer for our Swim and Dive Team as they take on Whiteland tomorrow (Jan. 20) at FCHS. The meet is set to start at 5:30. If you are volunteering to time or work the fort, please arrive by 5:15 so we can make sure that all spots are covered before the start of the meet. The volunteer check in list will be at the ticket counter. Volunteers can stop by there in order to receive free admission to the meet. Just give the individual at the ticket counter your name.

Also, do not forget that the JV Invite is this Saturday, January 22 at Avon. The meet is set to start at 10:00 am. The athletes will receive their schedule for the day through Zach. There will be an early morning practice for those swimmers who are not participating in the meet. Athletes who will be swimming at Avon will get the opportunity to sleep in that morning.

On Jan. 22, a very generous (but anonymous) family will be donating Chick Fil A- chicken minis as a hot breakfast option for the morning of JV Invite. All members of the FCHS Swim and Dive Team will be able to pick up a sandwich before the team leaves for this meet. A small selection of snacks will also be provided for the swimmers on deck as well as those athletes who will be in the stands during this meet. It is still a good idea to have your son/daughter pack any additional food options that he/she might need.

As always, we are here to answer the questions you might have. Please reach out!

I know this info is a bit early so I will send reminders throughout the next couple weeks. But I want parents of female athletes to remember that this is coming up. If you are a parent of a FEMALE athlete, keep reading.

It’s time to start thinking about Sectional Posters for ALL GIRL ATHLETES!! We would like every female athlete who swam on the FCHS Swim and Dive team this season to have a poster!

Here are some things to know about these posters:
1. ALL swimmers/divers will have an individual poster made by their parent/adult. This will hang in the school building during Sectional week. Posters are due by Jan 29. at 9:00 am.
2. The poster should be 14×22 in size. This is about 1/2 of a poster board.* Please use this size poster*. The custodial staff gets upset with us when the larger posters (due to their weight) fall during the night and cause the security system to trigger.
3. Feel free to take advantage of the FCHSSND Shutterfly website. Directions for getting on this site were in a different Team Pages email. Feel free to use personal pictures or pictures from past seasons. The pictures don’t all have to include swimming.
4. Also, include stickers, favorite quotes, inspirational sayings, etc. to decorate your child’s poster. I have listed some instructions for viewing poster examples from the past. Find the directions below.
5. Don’t stress over this. Have fun with it! It’s one of the celebrations of the season that we all look forward to. Your child will love it!
6. I do know that drugstores in town do offer options for digital posters. Several people have used this option in the past with very successful turnouts. It is just uploading photos and getting the poster printed.

Please have posters to the pool by 9:00 am on January 29. Posters that are brought to the pool before then can be put on top of the lock box in the hospitality room. I will keep an eye out for these and make sure they are kept safe before I hang them in the school hallway on January 29.

Directions for finding example posters on Team Pages:
1. Go to the top of the Team Pages website.
2.Click on the MEDIA tab.
3. Select photos from the drop down menu.
4.When a group of albums appears, click on the album titled Sectional Poster Examples.
5. These are just examples of past posters. I hope these are helpful.

I just received word from Cindi Martin in the athletic office that the photo proofs are in!!! I will head over to the pool this evening to get those passed out to the athletes. I will do my best to catch everyone who is at practice. These proofs will help you decide is you want to purchase your athlete’s picture if you have not already done so. I am hoping that if you purchased pictures already that they will also be included in this photo delivery. But… I will not know exactly what is in the delivery until I am at the pool this evening.

Also, just a reminder on things that are coming up this month. Please check your calendars as some of the times and dates have been adjusted since the beginning of the season.

January 20: Meet @ FCHS against Whiteland (5:30 pm)
January 22: JV Championship Meet @ Avon (10 am)—— Athletes will get arrival time to FCHS per Zach.
January 27: Boys Only Meet @ Center Grove High School (5:30 pm)
January 28: Tentative Date set for Boys’ Hair Dye Night to get ready for Championship Season. ALL boys are invited to participate in the FUN and STYLISH tradition. This will happen directly following practice and will include a meal for our male athletes. We will send more info on all the details about this event very soon.

As always reach out with questions.

Tomorrow, Saturday (Jan 8) is Conference Finals at Mooresville! Please come out and cheer on our team!!!
Diving starts at 8:00 am, and swimming will start at 12:00 pm.
Please check with your athlete to see what time they are expected to arrive that morning per Zach or Ty.

We will have some breakfast options for the athletes who are coming in to FCHS before leaving for the meet. It won’t be a full breakfast bag but there will be a warm breakfast option as well as some other items for the swimmers to choose from. However, athletes might want to bring any extra food items they might need for that morning or throughout the meet.

Photo Proofs: I am in constant contact with Cindi Martin, athletic secretary, about the proofs for the swimming and diving photos. While we were expecting them this week, they have not been delivered. I will continue to check on them and send them home with your athlete when they arrive at the high school.
