Thursday, Jan. 6
Conference Meet Prelims will be held at Mooresville High School. According to their website the meet starts at 6:00 pm. Athletes will leave school at 3:45 to head to Mooresville. Subway will be served before they board the bus. We will also have travel release forms available at the meet. Please make sure those are turned into a parent rep by the end of the meet.

Saturday, Jan. 8
Conference Meet Finals will be held at Mooresville High School. Diving will start at 8:00 am and swimming will start at 12:00 pm. Ty will inform divers about transportation and arrival expectations. DeWitt has informed the swimmers on the times when they will arrive and depart the high school. Please check with your athlete if you want to know those times.
Swimmers will be provided with some breakfast options to take with them when they leave FCHS that morning. It will not be a full breakfast bag so please make sure your athlete is prepared with extra food if needed. We will also have travel release forms available at the meet. Please make sure those are turned into a parent rep by the end of the meet.

Looking Ahead:
January 20: Meet @ FCHS against Whiteland (5:30 pm)
January 22: JV Championship Meet @ Avon (10 am: will verify that time and let you know ASAP)
January 27: Boys Only Meet @ Center Grove High School (5:30 pm)

February starts championship season!!!! There will be a lot of details and information coming up very soon in order to prepare for Feb. Please check your email and Team Pages regularly so that you won’t miss out.

March 1: End of the Season Banquet at FCHS Cafeteria- more details to follow

Please see the previous post for more details about the training trip. Here is just another quick packing list and some tips. Athletes should bring all their training trip gear into afternoon practice at FCHS on Thursday. Buses will be loaded immediately following practice completion at 5:00 pm.

Packing List:
cap, goggles, towel, practice suit, practice equipment needed per DeWitt
tennis shoes
socks (probably more than 1 pair)
“work out” clothes
comfortable change of clothing
“dress up” clothing for Buca
toiletries
pajamas
sheets (twin)
sleeping bag/blanket, pillow
water bottle
phone charger (if applicable)
an extra trash bag/plastic bag to put wet/muddy clothes in if needed
any medication that was listed on the medical form previously filled out
NO EXTRA CASH is needed

Things to think about when packing:

1. Athletes will be playing Capture the Flag outside upon arrival. Please base clothing on the outside weather/temperature. Clothes may get wet and dirty. Please make sure athlete has something to change into if this would happen.

2. Bringing bedding in a trash bag is an easy way to protect it as well as get it packed in the morning.

3. Putting names/initials in any clothing that other teammates might also have is a good way of assuring your athlete will return with the correct items or those items can be returned to him/her if found.

4. The packing list above contains just suggestions on items that have been brought on previous training trips. You know your son or daughter and what he/she might need. Just make sure to watch the weather/temperature to help gauge clothing. And, also don’t forget that we have had several days of rain which is sure to have left the grounds around the FFA Center slightly muddy!

Here is are some things to know for this week"

1.* Ruby and Zach’s Baby Shower:* invite was sent via text, email, and Facebook. We hope you received it and have made plans to drop in, enjoy a piece of cake, and extend your well wishes to the soon to be parents. They are looking forward to celebrating with you!
When: Tuesday, Dec. 28 at 5:00 pm (directly following practice)
Where: FCHS in the main athletic atrium just outside the pool

2.* North Central Meet*: Athletes will be leaving for the meet following morning practice. Zach has provided them with a schedule. They will be given a sack including breakfast items and chocolate milk to take along with them to the meet.
When: Wednesday, Dec 29- according to the North Central website, the meet is scheduled to start at 11:30
Where: North Central High School
Travel release forms will be available at the meet. Please make sure they are given to a parent rep before the end of the meet.

3. Training Trip- IT’S BACK!!!
When: Athletes will depart from FCHS for the training trip following afternoon practice on Dec. 30. They will return to the high school on Dec. 31 around 2:30 pm.
Where: FFA Center, IUPUI Natatorium, and Buca Di Beppo

We are all excited that the training trip is back. Here is a quick overview of the trip.
Dec. 30 Athletes will be bused to the FFA Center around 5:00 pm after practice. Upon arrival, they will be assigned rooms, complete team building activities, and have fun playing games/skits. Athletes will be served dinner around 7:00, and snacks/drinks will be provided for the remaining part of the evening. Coach will enforce lights out at a specified time.

Dec. 31 In the morning, athletes will be given time to pack items and clean-up FFA areas. Athletes will be provided with a drink and breakfast bag to eat before training. Athletes will travel by bus to the natatorium and will participate in dryland and practice from 8:15-11:00. After practice, everyone will be given a chance to change and gather items. The team will then be bused to Buca Di Beppo in Greenwood for a 12:15-12:30 reservation. Athletes are being asked to “dress up” for this meal. The team should arrive back to FCHS around 2:30 pm.

Packing List:
NO EXTRA money is needed. All items have been donated or paid for already.

Just a tip: Bringing bedding items in a trash bag keeps them protected and also makes them easy to carry and repack the next morning.

Please forgive the mistake on the North Central meet date on the paper schedule in the parent packet from the beginning of the season. It was my (Jennifer’s) typo, not Zach’s mistake. * The North Central Invite is this Wednesday, December 29 starting at 11:30 according to the schedule on the North Central website.* The meet is at North Central.

Tomorrow I will be sending out a detailed email about upcoming dates and info on the training trip. As the season has got into full swing, please always check the high school athletic website under swimming/diving as well as Team Pages for updated dates and info.
