It’s here!! Happy day before the start of the High School Swim and Dive season!! Hold on tight- I have a feeling this season will be a wild ride!

Monday, October 26 Kristi and I will be outside the back pool doors around 4:30 in order to collect forms, fees, answer questions, and pass out Chicago’s pizza cards. One of us will be there until around 5:45. If you are unable to come on Monday. We will also be outside those same doors on Wednesday of this week. Remember: your athlete can just place the forms and fees in the high school lock box in the hospitality room if you would prefer. We check that regularly.

Here are the items that need to be turned in:
1. Expense sheet (completely filled out)
2. Fees calculated from the expense sheet (make all checks payable to Franklin Swim and Dive, please also separate the athlete fees check from the Chicago’s Pizza check(s) if applicable)
3. Warm-up form

More info about pizza cards:
1. These are presale pizza cards. We will only be able to give you the number of pizza cards that you have collected money for. You will have to turn that money/checks in to receive your cards. Please make sure that you keep a record of who you are selling cards to and how many they purchased. We did not pass out the pizza card paper this year so you will need to keep that info. yourself. These are OPTIONAL to sell.
2. Cards are $14 a piece. Your athlete will receive a $5 credit towards season fees for every card sold.You can calculate that at the bottom of the expense sheet or we can do that for you if you are planning to come to the pool on Mon. or Wed.
3. Please separate your pizza check(s) from the check for the fees for the season. We can’t accept just one big check for everything. Pizza checks and expense checks can be made out to Franklin Swim and Dive. You can also pay using cash, and it will be very appreciated if you have the exact cash.

Miscellaneous Info:
1. Check your email. Breakfast and timer sign-up were sent out for November. Kristi and I are always so thankful to be part of such a group of helpful parents. Thanks to all who have so quickly signed up. There are still spots available though!
2. We ask that due to limited timing spots- only 1 family member signs up to time the meet. Thanks for your help with this.
3. The suit fitting for the girls is scheduled for 11/2 . Please make sure your athlete stays for that fitting and has turned in her suit fee if she is planning to get a suit for the season. It is the same suit we used last season. Boys’ fittings will be after their start date.
4. We will have silicone caps available to purchase starting Monday(optional). We will have them outside the pool on Mon. or Wed. OR We will get them to your athlete if the fee if placed in the lock box.

I will drop by the pool tonight to hand out paper copies of the expense sheet, warm-up form, and parent packet to the athletes. Please ask your swimmer for these when he/she gets home. I know that not everyone has access to a printer so I am hoping these paper copies help to make the process easier.

Also the first breakfast sign up calendar went out to your email inbox today. There are only 2 days to sign up for in October. We appreciate you for helping fill these spots. I know that it is a very quick turn around in October so I am really thankful for those families who are willing to sign up on such short notice!!! November’s calendar will come out this weekend.

Welcome to the 2020-21 season for the FCHSSnD (which I’ve been honored to lead for the last decade). We’ve seemingly made it through much of the rough of the pandemic, but we’ve needed to be prepared for anything that’s thrown at us in the coming months!

This season looks to have quite a few bright spots, but as Lao Tzu said, “A journey of one thousand miles begins with a single step.” This email is our one step, so let’s get to it!

Reminders that warm-ups can be brought to the storage room after school. There will be a bag or a tote for them.

There was a gray jacket with a bag of extension cords left after the banquet. I have those in my possession.

After state there was a boys sectional t-shirt (Med) and black pullover (lg) left at my house. I have those in my possession.

State fees go in lockbox with name.
