Let’s get ready for a fun week of celebrations leading up to Sectionals at our HOME pool! Check out what is in store the rest of the week for our male athletes!

Tuesday, February 15th
All boys are invited to sectional dinner at the Coy’s house (please reach out for the address if needed) directly after practice. This is a very exciting night outside the pool. It gives the athletes a chance to relax, eat, and spend time together as a team. All boy swimmers, divers and coaches will attend. Please don’t let not having a ride keep you from attending this dinner. If you need a ride from the school, please reach out and we can get them there. Boys will also receive a gift along with their sectional shirt. Please plan on picking your son up around 9:00.

Wednesday, February 16th
Following practice the boys will enjoy the traditional fruit cup

Thursday, February 17th
Girls team will time at prelims: Let’s PACK the stands to cheer on our boys!
No Subway is served. Athletes are responsible for eating on their own.

SECTIONAL PRELIMS START AT 5:30. More info about the night’s timeline to follow shortly.

Friday, February 18th
Boys will enjoy a Sectional lunch in the hospitality room during their regular lunch periods. Someone will be at the pool doors to let them in at the start of each lunch. They won’t want to miss the DELICIOUS food!

*Saturday, February 19th *
Doors will open at 8:15am. Boys diving begins at 9:00am
Swimming sectional finals begin at 1:00pm

Parents are responsible for volunteering per volunteer spot. Please reach out with questions.

Don’t forget to come and cheer loud and proud for our ladies as they swim and dive in the Girls State meet on Friday and Saturday. We hope to see the stands packed with both Franklin fans as well as our boys team of swimmers and divers. Please reach out if your son/daughter needs a way up to the Nat. We will work on finding him/her a ride so that everyone can be there to support our Franklin athletes.

Please remember that doors will open for spectators to get into the stands at 4:30. Franklin normally sits on the bleacher side that is closest to the parking garage stairs. We try to situate ourselves in the bleachers (not the chairs) just above the lifeguard chair of the competition pool. Our girls on deck normally stand around the lifeguard chair. Parents/fans who arrive early can help with saving spots for our boy athletes who will be arriving after school. Thank you for your help with this!

I can’t believe it! It’s almost STATE time! Get ready! It’s going to be fast and fun! We want to pack the stands to cheer on our girls! If you have never been to watch a State meet, this should be your year! Come and experience the fastest swimming and best diving in Indiana. It truly is something special!

Here are some details about Friday:
4:30 p.m. Doors open to spectators (I know that people start lining up well before this time, but this is the time that the doors open to the seating area. Normally we sit on the East Concourse for this meet- doors closest to the stairs leading to the parking garage)
5:45 Opening Ceremonies
6:00 Start of the meet

There will be a 15 minute break after the 50 yd freestyle.

The last event is scheduled to start at 8:35 pm.

Please remind your swim parents and fans that they will need to enter the school at Door 9 (Hall of Excellence), off of Stones Crossing Road for tonight’s Sectional Swim Championship. The first race will start at 6:00 PM.

• People can get in-line starting at 3:30 PM.*

This is the same process as Saturday’s prelims. We will start ticket sales and verification at 5:00 PM. All teams, workers, and officials should enter at Door 4 (Natatorium), off of Morgantown Road as they did on Saturday. The pool will be open for warm-ups at 4:30 PM. Tickets for this final session can be purchased for $6.00 at the ticket table – cash only, or online using the following link
