Odds and Ends

I mean…. did you REALLY think my emails were over?!?!

Just a few things to help wrap up the season:

1. If you need a patch form and did not get one at the banquet, please reach out. Forms are due to the athletic office by March 11.

2. We will place a tote inside the pool doors for warm-ups. Since there is no senior groups practice this afternoon, we will get that tote there tomorrow afternoon before the end of the practice.

3. Since the presentation was not made at the banquet, I wanted to let you know that because of your KIND and GENEROUS hearts the team was able to present EACH of the coaches with $200 in gift cards to their favorite places. Thank you for helping give these much deserving coaches a treat filled with thanks and appreciation for their countless hours on deck.

4. There were some awards, photos, posters, etc… left at the banquet. If you are missing something, reach out and I will point you in the right direction. The State yard signs were passed out to all the State swimmers/divers at the banquet. New (possibly dated) signs will be ordered next year so that everyone’s sign is identical.

This is just a reminder that the end of the season banquet is scheduled for tomorrow, March 1 at 6:00 pm in the FCHS cafeteria. We are hoping that everyone can make it for the celebration. Please read through the following bits of information:

1. PLEASE have your son/daughter bring his/her warm-up to the banquet! (Some athletes may have already turned the warm-up in before championship season.) It does not need to be washed. All warm-ups will be laundered after the collection. It would be a wonderfully miraculous event if ALL warm ups were turned in tomorrow. I am crossing my fingers and toes!!!

2. We are asking that families of male athletes bring an appetizer to share. While families of female athletes, bring a dessert to share. Please bring your own serving utensil if needed for your dish!* Food always makes celebrations even more festive.* We will bring paper products from the hospitality room and also provide some type of beverage.

3. If you have any fees left to pay for championship season, please bring those tomorrow as we would like to tie up the loose ends from this season.

4. We will mention this at the banquet, too. Please help us by encouraging/helping your son or daughter collect and take home any posters, photos, awards, etc… that we will be given out at the banquet tomorrow. Each year items are left behind in the cafeteria and then end up back at the pool where they either get ruined or thrown away. Thanks for your help in ensuring that we leave nothing behind after the banquet tomorrow.

Please reach out with any questions! Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

Don’t forget to come and cheer loud and proud for our boys as they swim and dive in the Boys State meet on Friday and Saturday. We hope to see the stands packed with both Franklin fans as well as our girls team of swimmers and divers. Please reach out if your son/daughter needs a way up to the Nat. We will work on finding him/her a ride so that everyone can be there to support our Franklin athletes.

Please remember that doors will open for spectators to get into the stands at 4:30 on Friday. Franklin normally sits on the bleacher side that is closest to the parking garage stairs. (Same place we sat for the girls meet.) We try to situate ourselves in the bleachers (not the chairs) just above the lifeguard chair of the competition pool. Our boys on deck normally stand around the lifeguard chair. Parents/fans who arrive early can help with saving spots for our girl athletes who will be arriving after school on Friday. Thank you for your help with this!

The items below are from our athletic department:

1. As a threat of inclement weather approaches Indiana, I wanted to reach out to everyone to make sure we’re all on the same page. I believe we will see rain the rest of the day with more of a chance for snow and ice later tonight after the meet. If that changes and we have to cancel tonight then we will just move prelims to Friday with Saturday staying on the original schedule.

2. Please notify your parents and fans that our doors will not open until 4:45 pm this evening and 8:15 am on Saturday. Please do not plan to line up today in the vestibule and foyer. We have too many things going on at the school to fill that area with spectators.

Please reach out with any questions. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we know this is a BIG meet!
